741X Ship's Clerk CWO
In the U.S. Navy, a Ship’s Clerk Warrant Officer (CWO) is a technical specialist in administration, personnel management, pay, and personnel processing. They have a broad knowledge of Navy procedures, organization, regulations, and directives.
To become a Ship’s Clerk CWO, a Yeoman must: Reach the rate of Chief Petty Officer Serve at that grade for a full year Be promoted from the rate of E7-E9
Chief Warrant Officers (CWOs) are commissioned officers of the line or staff corps. They have the authority and are qualified by extensive experience and knowledge to direct the most difficult and exacting operations within a given occupational specialty.
Warrant Officers outrank all enlisted members, but are not required to have a college degree. Commissioned Officers outrank Warrant Officers and enlisted service members, and must have a minimum of a four-year bachelor’s degree.
