780X Oceanography CWO
The U.S. Navy’s Oceanography Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) is a position that plans and manages the use of resources, equipment, and manpower.
They may serve in a variety of roles, including: Watch officers Division officers Training officers Team leads for small deployable teams Officers-in-charge of detachments Technical advisors on various staffs
To apply for the position, candidates must have at least 12 years of service, but not more than 24. They must also have superior performance and aerographic expertise.
To become a Navy CWO, candidates must: Complete basic training Attend officer candidate school Gain experience in various positions
It typically takes around 14-16 years of service to become a Navy CWO.
Navy Meteorologists and Oceanographers may serve in a variety of settings, including: Aircraft carriers Amphibious ships Naval Observatory Naval Research Labs
They may also further their education at Naval Postgraduate School.
