Apple Resume Template for Veterans

A calm, well-crafted page that proves deep expertise in one field. Apple is organized by function and led by experts, so this template shows mastery of details and cross-team work, not a generalist’s list.

Professional Summary

Supply chain program manager and former Army Logistics Officer (90A, Captain). I have planned material flow for a 4,200-soldier brigade and a $38M parts inventory. I focus on the details that keep a build on schedule: lead times, supplier readiness, and data you can trust. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt; APICS CSCP.

Professional Experience
Support Operations Officer, Materiel (Captain) — U.S. Army, 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment BrigadeJul 2022 – Jun 2026
  • Owned supply planning for 1,100 vehicle and electronics part numbers ($38M). Raised on-time part availability from 81% to 95% by rebuilding reorder points from 18 months of real demand data.
  • Found that 40% of late parts traced to 3 vendors’ customs paperwork. Worked with contracting and transportation teams to pre-clear documents, which cut average lead time by 11 days.
  • Argued against a plan to stockpile high-cost spares. With finance and maintenance leaders, landed on a vendor-managed buffer that freed $2.4M while keeping readiness above target.
  • Led a 23-person team through a 90-day deployment of 640 vehicles to Europe with zero lost or misrouted items across 4 ports.
Distribution Platoon Leader (First Lieutenant) — U.S. Army, 3rd Brigade Combat TeamMay 2019 – Jun 2022
  • Redesigned the convoy loading sequence using time studies, cutting average turnaround from 6.5 to 4 hours for 42 trucks.
  • Built a readiness dashboard in Excel and Power BI that replaced 5 separate reports. The brigade adopted it as its standard.
  • Coached 31 soldiers through licensing and hazmat certification with a 100% first-time pass rate.

What Apple looks for

Apple publishes little résumé advice. It does explain what it values. The company is organized by functional specialty, and people with the most expertise in an area make the decisions there. Apple says its leaders combine that expertise with “immersion in the details” and a willingness to debate openly while working together across teams. Your résumé should show deep expertise in one field, with evidence that you know the details and have worked through tough trade-offs with other teams. Show a clear craft rather than broad generalism.

Bullet formula: Expertise + detail + collaboration: [specialist action with a specific detail] across [teams you worked with] → [measurable effect on the product, customer, or operation].

Do

  • Lead with your specialty (for example supply chain program management) and keep the whole page on it.
  • Show immersion in details: the specific process, tolerance, lead time, or metric you mastered.
  • Show cross-functional work. Apple says no single team owns a product.
  • Describe a time you argued for a better answer and the team built on it (Apple calls this collaborative debate).
  • Tie results to the end-user experience, not only to internal efficiency.

Avoid

  • Don’t present yourself as a generalist who has done everything.
  • Don’t use military shorthand. Explain the operation in plain language.
  • Don’t rely on titles or rank to signal expertise. Show the depth directly.
