What Leidos looks for

Leidos says not every job requires a clearance. When one is needed, the posting says whether you must already hold it or just be able to get it, so match your wording to the posting. Leidos asks you to list education starting with your most recently completed program. It does not recognize degrees from diploma mills, and some contracts require accredited degrees. Its Operation MVP initiative hires and supports veterans and military spouses (about 20% of the workforce), and Leidos managers who host Hiring Our Heroes fellows say they look for discipline, motivation and leadership.

Bullet formula: [Action] + [customer or mission supported] + [measurable result]. Show Leidos values like Commitment (ownership, urgency) and Agility (flexible, creative, resilient) through results.

Do

  • Match the posting's clearance wording: "Active Secret" if you hold it, or say you are eligible to obtain one if that's what the posting accepts.
  • List education most recent first, from institutions recognized by the Department of Education or CHEA.
  • Put DoD 8140-qualifying certifications near the top for IT and cyber roles.
  • Show discipline, motivation and leadership with numbers: uptime, compliance, users supported, people trained.
  • Use Leidos's Operation MVP contact to send your résumé with your availability date.

Avoid

  • Don't list degrees or certificates from unaccredited schools.
  • Don't claim a clearance level you only have eligibility for.
  • Don't leave Coast Guard or Navy ratings untranslated. Say what the job was in IT terms.
