What NVIDIA looks for

NVIDIA’s hiring page says to make sure your résumé “aligns with the position you’re interested in.” Apply only to the three to five roles that best match you. A senior NVIDIA university-recruiting manager named the top three things recruiters look for: proof of the technical skills the role requires, subject-matter expertise, and projects that show original thinking. NVIDIA experts also suggest being proactive, for example by finding a problem and building a solution before you’re hired. Coding screens may use HackerRank. Unapproved AI tools in interviews disqualify you.

Bullet formula: Technical action on named hardware or software + scale + measured result. Then back it with a project that shows you went beyond the assignment.

Do

  • Tailor to one role and apply to at most 3–5 roles. NVIDIA says to focus on the best matches.
  • Name the technical skills in the posting (Linux, networking, GPUs, Python, test tools) and show where you used them.
  • Add a Projects section that shows original thinking, like a home lab, Jetson build, or automation tool.
  • Show subject-matter depth in one area. Don’t try to cover every area.
  • Include NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute training if you’ve taken it.

Avoid

  • Don’t apply to dozens of loosely matching roles.
  • Don’t list skills you can’t explain step by step in a technical interview.
  • Don’t plan to use unapproved AI tools in interviews. NVIDIA says it disqualifies you.

Words from their postings

Veteran programs

  • Veterans@NVIDIA: one of NVIDIA’s Community Resource Groups.
  • Insider Chat: an optional 15-minute talk with a Community Resource Group member during final interviews. It does not affect the hiring decision.
  • NVIDIA’s careers page quotes an employee on the company’s support when they were activated for deployment.

Where veterans land

Data center operations technician / engineer, Systems test engineer, Solutions architect, Technical program manager, Hardware reliability engineer
