Contracting ensures we get the best value for every purchase and assist in every aspect of the process. They prepare, negotiate and grant contracts to vendors across every department and partnering organization of the Space Force. This includes acquiring vital aerospace supplies such as electronics, satellites and missiles systems as well as commercial products necessary for the day-to-day operations of our military bases.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Contracting, or related field.
- Experience with federal contracting processes preferred.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Duties
- Prepare and negotiate contracts for space systems and services.
- Evaluate proposals and select contractors.
- Administer contracts and monitor performance.
- Ensure compliance with federal contracting regulations.
- Coordinate with program managers and technical experts.
- Manage contract modifications and closeouts.

Civilian contracting professionals receive training in federal acquisition regulations, contract law, and negotiation techniques. Specialized courses focus on space acquisition topics, cost analysis, and contract administration. Professionals may also participate in Defense Acquisition University courses and certification programs.
