Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Experience with federal financial management preferred.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Duties

  • Develop and manage budgets for space programs.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Provide financial advice to program managers and leaders.
  • Coordinate with contracting and acquisition teams.
  • Support financial planning and execution processes.

Training & Education

Civilian financial management professionals receive training in federal financial management, budgeting, and accounting. Specialized courses focus on defense financial management, cost analysis, and financial systems. Professionals may also participate in certification programs such as CDFM (Certified Defense Financial Manager).
