Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum ASVAB score of 66 General.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Normal color vision.
  • Typing skill of at least 25 words per minute.
  • Completion of Basic Military Training.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Duties

  • Identify and nominate targets based on mission objectives.
  • Conduct target system analysis and target development.
  • Prepare targeting materials and products.
  • Assess battle damage and measure effectiveness of operations.
  • Collaborate with intelligence collection managers to prioritize intelligence requirements.
  • Maintain target documentation and databases.

Targeting Analysts undergo comprehensive training in intelligence analysis, target development, and mission planning. The curriculum includes target system analysis, weaponeering, collateral damage estimation, and battle damage assessment. Specialists also learn about space-specific targeting considerations and constraints.
