Standard BAH uses 3 primary inputs: permanent duty station ZIP, pay grade, and with-dependent or without-dependent status.
DoD targets roughly 30–75 rental units for each of 6 housing profiles within each Military Housing Area.
Rate protection generally preserves the higher of your new January 1 rate or the amount paid on December 31.
OHA requires DD Form 2367, while eligible Move-In Housing Allowance claims use DD Form 2556.
Temporary BAH increases are not rate-protected when they end, and current statutory authority runs through December 31, 2026.
