Call each bank, lender and insurer before the legal appointment because a limited POA may require an account number, VIN or institution-specific form.

Keep the Red Cross Hero Care Network number, 877-272-7337, with the service member’s unit details and a professional verification contact.

Military OneSource offers up to 12 non-medical counseling sessions per issue, but the first session must be scheduled within 30 days of authorization.

Update DD Form 93 separately from life-insurance records because changing one does not automatically update the other.

Marriage does not automatically give you authority over accounts held only in your spouse’s name. A password may let you sign in, but it does not give you the legal power to sell a vehicle, deal with an insurer, sign housing documents, or resolve a problem with a lender.
