Test your exact push-up, core, and 1.5-mile or 2-mile run events on Day 1, then repeat them after Weeks 4, 8, and 12.

Use three weekly run or run-walk sessions during Weeks 1–4, progressing from 10–20 minutes toward 25–40 minutes.

During Weeks 5–8, introduce no more than one weekly ruck at first and increase only load, distance, pace, or terrain—not all four.

Complete the final hard mock test early in Week 12, then taper during Days 85–90 and stop hard training in the final 48 hours.

Get at least 7 hours of sleep per night and stop impact exercise when shin, foot, groin, or hip pain changes your gait.

Get your service’s current test before you train

There is no single military fitness test for every recruit. Your branch determines the events, distances, scoring rules, and minimums, and those rules can change between the day you first talk to a recruiter and the day you ship.
