How to fill out the DA Form 705-AFT
The graders' scorecard for the Army Fitness Test, which replaced the ACFT in June 2025. It records raw scores and points for the 3-repetition maximum deadlift, hand-release push-up, sprint-drag-carry, plank, and 2-mile run (or an alternate aerobic event for profiled Soldiers). The SPT is no longer tested. One card holds four tests (Test One to Test Four) for the same Soldier. When: Every record and diagnostic AFT. Active component Soldiers take a record test twice a year; check your component's frequency in AR 350-1 and current HQDA guidance.
Step by step
- Before the test, fill in name, unit, and sex, then the test date, AOC/MOS, pay grade, and age on test day.
- Mark the standard: Combat for Soldiers in combat MOSs/AOCs (sex-neutral scoring), General for everyone else (age- and sex-normed).
- Graders record each event's raw score as it happens and initial it: both deadlift attempts (check the heavier successful lift), push-up repetitions, sprint-drag-carry time, plank time, and 2-mile run time.
- Convert raw scores to points with the current tables at army.mil/aft and total them.
- Profiled Soldiers taking an alternate aerobic event circle it (5K row, 1K swim, 12K bike, 2.5-mile walk), record the time, and score GO (60 points) or NO GO (0).
- The Soldier signs and dates; the OIC/NCOIC records GO or NO GO for the test and signs.
What a strong one looks like
- Know your standard before test day. As published in 2025, the Combat standard needs at least 60 points per event and 350 total; the General standard needs 60 per event and 300 total. Confirm against the current tables.
- Use this draft to track diagnostic scores and set event goals for your next record test.
- The form is marked FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY once filled in; handle completed cards accordingly.
Common mistakes
- Pay grade or age entered as of the wrong date; age is as of test day and changes the General standard.
- Graders forgetting to initial each event, which can invalidate a record test.
- Using the old DA 705-ACFT card or the six-event ACFT tables.
