Overview of 2F0X1 – Fuels AFSC
The 2F0X1 AFSC focuses on maintaining and operating fuels and cryogenic facilities and equipment, encompassing the reception, storage, and issuance of petroleum, cryogenics, and alternative fuel products. This role includes performing quality analysis on these products and executing preventative and operator maintenance on various fuel dispensing vehicles, handling equipment, and systems.

Entry Requirements for 2F0X1:
- ASVAB Scores: Mechanical: 47 and General: 38.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift 70 lbs.

- Security: Routine access to Secret material or similar environment is necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operations: Directs receipt, storage, and issue operations for petroleum, cryogenic, and alternative fuel products. Manages forecasts, orders, and receipt operations to ensure quality and quantity compliance.
- Facility Management: Manages, operates, and maintains storage and dispensing facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Manages, maintains, and operates specialized fuels vehicles and support equipment. Ensures vehicle preventive maintenance programs are reliable.
- Technical Functions: Operates the Fuels Service Center to monitor product movements and prioritize refueling requirements. Coordinates with supported agencies for efficient fuel dispensing.
- Record Keeping: Maintains fuels and cryogenic records for accurate billing and inventory management. Monitors and analyzes product temperature and handling gains and losses.
- Quality Control: Maintains quality control for fuel and cryogenic products through analysis and documentation, ensuring product integrity and compliance with standards.
Specialty Qualifications:
Knowledge: Essential understanding of petroleum and cryogenic product composition, properties, handling hazards, and environmental protection procedures. Proficiency in operating and maintaining related equipment and facilities.
Education: High school completion with courses in general science, computer science, mathematics, and chemistry is preferred.
Training: Mandatory completion of the Fuels Apprentice Course for entry into the specialty.
Experience: Progressive experience from basic operations, quality control analysis, and vehicle and equipment maintenance to advanced roles involving coordination and management of fuel operations.
