4B0X1 is the Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) for Bioenvironmental Engineering. Bioenvironmental Engineering specialists perform and manage occupational and environmental health-related activities. They: Anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control exposure to chemical, biological, and radiological hazards Ensure that Airmen are safe wherever they work Provide health risk expertise to optimize human performance To qualify for 4B0X1, you need a composite score of at least 49 on the general (G) section of the Air Force Qualification Area of the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) tests. Bioenvironmental Engineering specialists: Evaluate workplace hazards such as extreme noise and radiation Focus on reducing Supervise and perform bioenvironmental engineering medical readiness activities
