2336 disposal technician
The U.S. Marine Corps MOS 2336 is for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technicians. EOD technicians are responsible for the safe disposal of explosive weaponry and ammunition. They perform tasks such as: Locating and identifying unexploded ordnance and improvised explosive devices Neutralizing and disposing of hazards from foreign and domestic, chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear sources Advising personnel on the hazards of unexploded explosive ordnance and improvised explosive devices Performing radiological monitoring Calculating downwind hazard area Performing toxic chemical/biological agent detection tests
EOD technicians must meet specific qualifications and complete formal training at the Naval School for Explosive Ordnance Disposal. They are expected to be in higher demand in the coming years.
