7200 air control
The Marine Corps Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 7200 is Basic Air Control/Air Support/Antiair Warfare/Air Traffic Control. Air traffic control officers with this MOS command Air Traffic Control (ATC) detachments and are in charge of ATC facilities at Marine Corps Air Stations. They also serve as control tower operators and radar air traffic controllers.
Air traffic controllers are responsible for issuing safety alerts and making sure aircraft take off and land safely. They also set up runways or landing zones for helicopters.
Air support officers with MOS 7208 direct and coordinate air support missions. They also advise commanders on matters related to the employment and control of air support.
