0211 - Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence (CI/HUMINT) Specialist

Summary

CI/HUMINT Specialists are involved in all facets of planning and conducting HUMINT operations, CI activities, and sensitive activities (SA).

CI/HUMINT Specialists require specialization in the development and coordination of multi-use networks.

They are expected to possess a working knowledge of the organization, operations, and techniques employed by foreign intelligence services, international terrorist organizations, insider threats, and other CI threats.

CI/HUMINT Specialists conduct sensitive and non-sensitive HUMINT operations in Joint Operations Area (JOA) and Non-JOA environments to support MEF priorities, MAGTF operations, and service requirements.

They also conduct CI functional services, CI collection activities, CI incident assessments, and CI analysis in support of MEF equities, MAGTF operations, the MCISRE, CCMDs, & USMC/DoN critical infrastructure/critical programs and technology.

CI/HUMINT Marines obtaining a qualifying DLAB score can receive language training.

Prerequisites

Must be a U.S.

citizen; cannot be a dual citizen.

Must possess a valid U.S.

driver’s license.

Must possess a GT score of 105 or higher (may be waived).

Must be willing to submit to a counterintelligence scope polygraph examination.

Must be worldwide deployable when approved for lateral move into the 0211 MOS.

Must have 60 months obligated service remaining upon graduation from the PMOS 0211 producing school.

Must be 21 years of age prior to graduation from the MAGTF CI/HUMINT Course (N46HFW2).

Must complete the pre-course familiarization prior to attending the MAGTF CI/HUMINT Course (N46HFW2).

Must have a DLAB test score in their OMPF.

There is no minimum DLAB score required before being assigned the 0211 PMOS.

Must complete a suitability assessment conducted by only Marine Corps CI/HUMINT personnel (PMOS 0211, 0210, 0204) and must be recommended for lateral move by the 0211 occupational field specialist or 02XX occupational field manager.

Security requirement: Must meet sensitive compartmented information (SCI) eligibility guidelines based on a single scope background investigation/T5 investigation.

Must be a volunteer corporal, sergeant, or staff sergeant of any MOS.

Lance Corporals and gunnery sergeants may apply for lateral move if determined exceptionally qualified by the 0211 MOS specialist, 02XX occupational field manager, and/or MOS sponsor.

Lance Corporals will not receive PMOS 0211 until successful completion of the PMOS 0211 producing school and achieving the rank of corporal.

Waivers to any prerequisites or requirements must be submitted to and approved by the 02XX occupational field manager.

Requirements

Marines must complete the MAGTF CI/HUMINT Course (N46HFW2), Marine Corps Detachment, Dam Neck, VA.

Failure to attend and pass the MAGTF CI/HUMINT Course will result in an MOS reclassification or separation per current MMEA guideline and applicable MCOs.

Marines who attend a formal language school or designated language dialect course and obtain a minimum proficiency of in two modalities (listening, reading, or speaking) on the defense language proficiency test (DLPT) will be assigned an EMOS of 27XX in the appropriate language.

CI/ HUMINT Marines assigned a 27XX EMOS shall maintain a minimum proficiency of 1+/1+ on the DLPT.

CI/HUMINT Marines may be assigned to billets which require additional training and/or certifications.

Selection for additional training and subsequent billet assignments will be managed by HQMC (I Div.) in coordination with subordinate Marine Corps units.

Training in excess of 120 days will incur time in service obligation.

Prior to assignment the Marine must obtain 36 months of obligated service.
