0477 - Expeditionary Logistics Instructor
Summary
Expeditionary Logistics Instructors (ELIs) support commanders by being skilled in the art and science of command and control and the logistics operations cycle, which is defined as a continuous process used to plan logistics operations, receive and validate logistics requests, task subordinate units to execute logistics missions, and define requirements to tactical level headquarters and operational level logistics activities.
ELIs are capable of integrating the functional areas of logistics with the other warfighting functions during planning, and while executing naval expeditionary force (NEF) logistics operations in complex environments; proficient in training design and can implement and manage unit readiness planning (URP); effective operational planning team (OPT) leaders; and proponents of standardization in procedures and training.
MOS 0477 will be assigned upon successful completion of the Advanced Expeditionary Logistics Operations Course (AXLOC) (M09F2F9).
Prerequisites
Security requirement: secret level clearance.
Career level school completion (resident or nonresident).

Duties
Design, conduct, supervise, and validate staff and unit training plans in accordance with the unit commander’s guidance, higher headquarters plans, and applicable Marine Corps Orders.
Evaluate and assess all unit readiness data submitted in the Defense Readiness Reporting System.
Validate unit operations, training, and readiness standing operating procedures and ensure alignment with higher headquarters plans and applicable Marine Corps orders.
Submit recommended changes to training standards and doctrine through the appropriate chain of command.
Develop and implement concepts of operations and concepts of logistics support.
Provide instruction on the Marine Corps planning process and lead OPTs.
