0560 - Security Cooperation (SC) Planner
Summary
SC Planners work closely with war planners to ensure planned SC engagements enable USMC operations, to include readiness generation and/or sustainment activities for USMC forces, potential prepositioning and access, coalition partner interoperability, and contribution to deterrence via the development of partner nation defensive capabilities.
SC Planners develop security cooperation engagement plans (SCEP) in support of overarching global campaign plans, combatant command campaign plans, and other high-level strategic guidance.
SC Planners have a comprehensive understanding of the USMC SC planning and execution process.
Prerequisites
Security requirement: secret clearance required.
Complete the Introduction to Security Cooperation (SC-101) and Introduction to Socium (SOC-101) virtual training courses provided by the Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU).
Requirements
Complete the Security Cooperation Planners Course (SCPC) (N030JX3 or N030JXM) provided by the Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group or TECOM, Marine Corps Intelligence School, SC Training Detachment.
MOS 0560 will be assigned by the Marine’s O-5 level or above commanding officer upon completion of Security Cooperation Planners Course.

Duties
Plan, coordinate, assess, monitor, and evaluate SC engagement plans, regional plans, and/or exercise plans.
SC planners provide subject matter expertise on SC authorities, activities, and joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational integration with SC.
