0874 - Joint Fires Observer Evaluator
Summary
Joint Fires Observer Evaluator (JFO-E).
A graduate of a Marine Corps FLC JFO and/ or TACP course of instruction who is trained to request, adjust, and control surface to surface indirect fire, provide targeting information in support of type 2 and 3 terminal attack controls, and perform autonomous terminal guidance operations.
A highly experienced and qualified JFO or JTAC authorized to conduct JFO evaluations and supervise certified JFOs in all aspects of JFO training.
Prerequisites
Must be a U.S.
citizen.
Must possess a GT score of 100 or higher.
Must have normal color vision, and vision correctable to 20/20.
Security requirement: secret security clearance eligibility.
Must have held MOS 0861, Fire Support Marine; or MOS 0873, Joint Fires Observer.
Requirements
Meet JFO qualification standards.
Must complete the Joint Fires Observer Course (N03KLB1).
Be an active or reserve sergeant or corporal who possess a minimum of one year of experience as a JFO or JTAC.

Duties
Upon meeting all eligibility listed for the certification and designation of this MOS, the individual recipient shall coordinate with their unit administration department to ensure this MOS is added to their official military personnel file (OMPF) in order to accurately reflect the corresponding qualification/designation within their permanent record.
