0946 - Summer/Winter Mountain Leader (SWML)

Summary

The S/WML possesses all the requisite skills needed to advise units operating across all sub-environments contained within mountain and cold weather environments.

The S/WML performs duties of the unit mountain leader who is the subject matter expert in mountain warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures, acts as an advisor to the commander, and is capable of conducting pre-environment training for their units.

Prerequisites

Must be screened for G6PD and sickle cell.

Requirements

Must successfully complete both the Summer Mountain Leaders Course (M24M7A1); and the Winter Mountain Leaders Course (M24M7B1) at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, CA.
