1310 - Engineer Equipment Officer

Summary

Engineer Equipment Officers are WOs who manage and coordinate engineer equipment employment, repair, and related metalworking activities in support of all engineering and material handling tasks associated with mobility, counter-mobility, general engineering, and logistics operations.

They supervise the eight functional areas of maintenance management, as well as oversee establishing field maintenance and equipment staging sites, and procedures for their defense.

Engineer Equipment Officers may also perform duties of a special staff officer at the battalion or general staff level, providing advice in equipment employment, material readiness, and qualification/training.

Prerequisites

Must hold 11XX/13XX MOSs.

Must meet eligibility and appointment criteria as prescribed in MCO 1040.42B, WO and LDO accession programs.

Requirements

Complete the Warrant Officer Basic Course (M02RMN4) within 18 months of appointment to WO.

Complete the Engineer Equipment Officers Course (M03ACN2), Marine Corps Engineer School, Camp Lejeuene, NC.

Skill progression schools/courses recommended for Engineer Equipment Officers include: Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course (M14P2A1), taught by Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1, Yuma, AZ.

(recommended for all Engineer Equipment Officers serving in the ACE).

Ground Safety for Marines Course (M02M8SS, M03M8SS, M10M8SA, M21M8S3, M22M8S3, and M44M8S2) taught at various bases and stations.

Hazardous Material/Hazardous Waste Handling Course (A14TNLM), taught at various bases and stations.

Intermediate MAGTF Logistics Operations Course (IMLOC) (M09F2F9).
