1709 - Information Cell Coordinator (ICC)

Summary

Information Coordinators plan, coordinate, execute and assess the information warfighting function.

These officers also advise commanding generals, their staff sections and MAGTF commanders on the conduct of information as well as the development of policy and doctrine for information at as part of a larger information staff from the MEF major subordinate command level up to joint/theater level staffs.

Prerequisites

Security requirement: active top secret security clearance with secure compartmented information (SCI) access.

Requirements

Complete the Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Atlantic’s (EWTGLANT) Staff Operations in the Information Environment Planner Course (SOPC), (N03HE51), Norfolk, VA.

Duties

Supervise the task organization and employment of the Information Coordination Cell (ICC).

Serve as the subject matter expert to the commander and staff for all lethal and non-lethal information effects in shaping the area of operation to meet the commander’s intents.

Participate in the conduct of the targeting process; supervise and evaluate the execution of targeting in accordance with the commander’s guidance.

Develops information plans and information annexes to operations plans for all operations, contingencies, and exercises.

Integrate information plans and advise the commander on the conduct of information throughout the all-domain conflict continuum.

Provide information battlespace awareness to the commander.

Synchronize efforts with information related capabilities to leverage capabilities and maximize effects.

Acts as a liaison for information forces that are not organic to the MAGTF table of organization.

Provides subject matter expertise to the development of USMC policy on information consistent with DoD policy.
