2131 - Artillery Systems Technician
Summary
The Artillery Systems Technician, under supervision, performs basic duties incident to inspection, maintenance, and repair of Towed Artillery Howitzers.
The Artillery Systems Technician also completes basic shop administrative forms and records utilizing technical manuals.
At the Gunnery Sergeant through Corporal level, the Artillery Systems Technician performs, trains, and supervises various duties incident to inspection, maintenance and repair of towed artillery howitzers.
The Artillery Systems Technician also prepares, maintains and supervises a shop maintenance and management program, and performs the maintenance and repair of Towed Artillery Howitzers according to grade.
Prerequisites
Must possess an MM score of 95 or higher.
Must meet initial strength test standards associated with PEF assignments as listed in the glossary (pg.
xiv) prior to shipping to recruit training.
Must meet MOS classification standards as listed in the glossary (pg.
xiv) prior to graduating from recruit training.
Requirements
Complete the Towed Artillery Repairer Course (A1408O6).
Corporals to sergeant will complete the Ground Ordnance Maintenance Supervisors Course (A14GBC6) and must remain on active duty for 12 months upon completion of the course.
Staff Sergeant to gunnery sergeants will complete the Ground Ordnance Managers Course (A14GBS6) and must remain on active duty for 12 months upon completion of the course.
