2339 - Marine EOD Diver Officer

Summary

A Marine EOD Officer who is trained to dive and use littoral explosive ordnance neutralization (LEON) equipment in the underwater environment.

This title and MOS will also be used to identify Marine Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Diver Officer Billets in the T/Os.

Prerequisites

Must be a graduate of Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD) (N56GPX1).

Requirements

Complete the Navy Scuba Diver Course (N2003E1); or the Navy Basic Scuba Diver Course (A-433-0123) at the Naval Dive and Salvage Training Center, Panama City, FL.

Complete the MK 16 Underwater Breathing Apparatus (UBA) Diver Course (N204C11) at the Naval Dive and Salvage Training Center, Panama City, FL.

Complete the EOD Basic Navy Underwater Course (N20B0Q1) at NAVSCOLEOD, Eglin AFB, FL.

Must maintain physically qualified per naval special warfare/special operations physical to perform diver duties in accordance with inter-service requirements established in NAVMED P-117 and reference, standards of medical fitness.

(LtCol to Capt) and (CWO5 to WO): Plans, leads and employs Marine EOD LEON equipment; conducting underwater operations to detect, locate, reacquire, render safe/neutralize, recover, exploit, and dispose of underwater explosive ordnance in the very shallow water and surf zone.
