5713 - Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Responder
Summary
CBRN Responders are CBRN Defense Specialist trained to perform CBRN reconnaissance and surveillance in order to confirm or deny the presence of chemical, biological, or radiological hazards beyond the supported unit’s capability.
Prerequisites
Must currently hold and maintain PMOS 5711 prerequisites.
Must be capable of meeting organizational requirements for occupational health respiratory protection program.
Requirements
Maintain Hazardous Materials Technician Certification.
Complete the CBRN Responder Operations Course (A16CBR4); and the CBRN Responder Technician Course (A16CB14) at the U.S.
Army CBRN School, Ft Leonard Wood, MO; or other DoD HAZMAT Operations and Technician Certification Course.

Duties
Employs enhanced CBRN reconnaissance and surveillance equipment and personal protective equipment to satisfy information and force protection requirements of the supported commander.
