5803 - Military Police Officer

Summary

Military Police Officers perform garrison law enforcement duties at supporting establishments (SE) and operating forces (OPFOR) law enforcement duties within Marine Forces Headquarters and within 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, Marine Forces Reserve.

Typical duties and billets at the SE include watch commander, services officer, operations officer, deputy provost marshal, and provost marshal.

Typical duties and billets at the OPFOR include platoon commander, company commander, operations officer, executive officer, and commanding officer, and law enforcement integrations officer.

Prerequisites

Must qualify for and graduate The Basic School.

Requirements

Complete the Military Police Officers Basic Course (A1670Z3), at MARCORDET, Ft Leonard Wood, MO.

Must have no convictions by special or general courts-martial; or felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions of domestic violence from civil courts.

Waivers will not be granted for convictions by special or general courts-martial or civil courts for crimes of domestic violence as per reference (bk), the Lautenberg Amendment.

Must have no history of mental, nervous, or emotional disorders.

Waivers will not be considered for those Marines determined unsuitable for assignment as a Military Police Officer by a medical professional.
