6077 - Weapons and Tactics Instructor
Summary
Weapons and Tactics Instructors train aviation maintenance professionals in the execution of various tasks that are encompassed within a wide spectrum of aviation maintenance and logistics matters.
They will (1) Assist their respective unit commanders in conducting a professional Marine Corps Aviation Weapons and Tactics Training Program (WTTP) which includes specific individual MOS training and collective operational unit training; (2) Act as aviation logistics managers and planners with enhanced planning skills and insight into integrating all aviation assets to promote mission success; (3) Coordinate and conduct appropriate supplementary courses applicable to their particular community; (4) Ensure all training conducted under their supervision is properly documented and adheres to established safety procedures; (5) Submit appropriate information, including exercise/deployment reports, to assist MAWTS-1 in updating tactics and instruction.
Prerequisites
Must possess Primary MOSs: 6002, 6004, or 6302.
Requirements
Complete the Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One Advanced Aircraft Maintenance Officer Course (M14FDG1).

Duties
Serves as the aviation logistics and maintenance management standardization representative to the organizational and intermediate level units on all issues relating to training standards, training development, training management, and evaluation.
Provides training and readiness (T&R) guidance and serves as the official signature authority for T&R sign-offs within their assigned scope.
Reviews, investigates, introduces, and evaluates emerging standardization techniques and ensures the broadest dissemination to the fleet.
Coordinates and facilitates professional development opportunities and classroom training for maintenance professionals ensuring standardization IAW the most current fleet practices.
Serves as a maintenance operations planning liaison providing expertise to units planning large scale detachments and deployments.
