6338 - Aircraft Avionics Technician, F-35

Summary

Aircraft Avionics Technicians, F-35, install, remove, inspect, test, maintain, and repair systems, components, and ancillary equipment of installed aircraft communications/navigation/radar/electrical systems to include deceptive electronic countermeasures (DECM) systems at the OMA level.

Prerequisites

Must be a U.S.

citizen.

Must possess a CL or EL score of 105 or higher.

Security requirement: secret security clearance eligibility.

Must have normal color perception.

Requirements

Initial accession Marines must complete the Aviation Electricians Mate Course (N23A972), A1 AE “A” School, NATTC NAS Pensacola, FL; and the F-35B Aircraft Avionics Systems Technician Course (N56A392), “C” School, CNATT Unit Eglin AFB, FL.

LATMOV Marines from MOS outside of 63XX/64XX occupational fields must complete the Aviation Electricians Mate Course (N23A972), A1 AE “A” School, NATTC NAS Pensacola, FL; and the F-35B Aircraft Avionics Systems Technician Course (N56A392), “C” School, CNATT Unit Eglin AFB, FL.

LATMOV Marines from MOS within 63XX/64XX Occupational Fields but not TACAIR MOSs (6314/6316/6323/6324/6326/6336/6423/6432/ 6469/6483/6492/6499); do not need to attend “A” School.

As long as the Marine has previously completed either ATI (N23A952), ATO (N23A962), or AE (N23A972).

Must complete the F-35B Aircraft Avionics Systems Technician Course (N56A392), “C” School, CNATT Unit Eglin AFB, FL.

E3-LATMOV Marines from MOSs within the 63XX occupational field with TACAIR MOSs 6317/6332/ 6337; do not need to attend “A” School.

As long as the Marine has previously completed either ATI (N23A952), ATO (N23A962), or AE (N23A972).

Must complete the F-35B Aircraft Avionics Systems Technician Course (N56A392), “C” School, CNATT Unit Eglin AFB, FL.

E4 and above-LATMOV Marines from the 63XX occupational field with TACAIR MOSs 6317/6332/ 6337; do not need to attend “A” School.

As long as the Marine has previously completed either ATI (N23A952), ATO (N23A962), or AE (N23A972).

Must complete either “C” School (N56A392), CNATT Unit Eglin AFB, FL; or Fleet Training Detachment FTD: VMFAT-501 (M16A391) or VMFAT-502 (M17A39C).
