7316 - Small Unmanned Aircraft System (SUAS) Operator
Summary
The SUAS Operator is responsible for the planning, coordinating, integrating and safe operations of the SUAS in support of company and battalion missions.
As a SUAS operator, you will maintain and remotely pilot small-unmanned air vehicles, manage the use of onboard optics, synchronize SUAS into unit operations, and serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in SUAS operations and capabilities for the company and battalion.
Prerequisites
Must be a U.S.
citizen.
Must have a five year term of enlistment.
Must possess a GT score of 110 or higher.
Security requirement: secret security clearance.
Must have normal color vision and depth perception.
Must meet all the physical requirements of the medical screening exam per reference (ai), the Naval Medical Department Manual, section IV, article 15-100 for UAS.
Requirements
Complete the requirements for the basic unmanned qualification II (BUQ-II) in accordance with CJCSI 3255.01 by one of the following methods: The Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Operator Common Core (OCC) Course (M03VAM4), Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Schoolhouse (SUASS) East, Camp Lejeune, NC.
Designated UAS operators that have already received the MOS 7314.
A BUQ-II individual will be awarded the MOS 7316 after the successful completion of the Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (SUAS) Operator Training Course (OTC) (M03VAN4) at Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Schoolhouse (SUASS) East, Camp Lejeune, NC.
Upon successful completion of one of the SUAS OTC and the subsequent awarding of PMOS 7316, Small Unmanned Aircraft System Operators, are authorized to wear the Marine Unmanned Aircraft System Breast Insignia per MCO 1020.34.

Duties

Tasks include but are not limited to the following: Perform duties associated with and required for unit and subordinate unit sUAS Program Management.
Act as the primary operator of sUAS that require a Basic Unmanned Qualification (BUQ) II.
Perform duties as a sUAS Training Standardization Instructor.
