Personnel Specialists (PS) provide counseling and information to fellow Sailors on: Navy occupations General education and job training opportunities Promotion requirements Rights and benefits Travel entitlements PSs also maintain and audit pay and personnel records of military personnel.
They may also: Ensure that a Sailor’s withholding and other tax data has been properly set up Maintain ADP equipment that handles payroll disbursement To become a PS in the Navy, you must: Have a high school education or equivalent Complete 8 weeks of basic training Complete 5 weeks of technical training Complete technical school in Meridian, MS
Desired high school courses include: Typing, Keyboarding.
U.S. citizenship is not required.
