17 Cyber Corps
The Cyber Corps represents the most recent addition to the United States Army’s branches.
According to the US Army, it functions as a maneuver branch with a primary mission of conducting both defensive and offensive cyberspace operations (DCO and OCO). Notably, Cyber is the sole branch explicitly created to directly counter threats originating within the cyberspace domain.
This branch was officially established on September 1, 2014, under the leadership of then-Secretary of the Army, John M. McHugh.
