56D Clinical Pastoral Educator

The Army MOS 56D is a Clinical Pastoral Educator. This role involves directing professional training programs for chaplains. They screen students for selection, develop curriculum, and train students. They also consult with commanders and chaplain supervisors on professional development plans.

The 56D also conducts interdisciplinary training with other military and civilian agencies. They advise installation chaplains and training steering committees on professional accreditation requirements. They also represent the installation at regional and national professional training conferences.
