89E Explosive Ordnance Disposal
The Army MOS 89E is an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Officer.
These officers are responsible for: Advising and executing “render safe” operations for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive ordnance disposal (CBRNE) Commanding or serving as a staff officer for units or activities responsible for explosive ordnance disposal Locating, rendering safe, removing, and disposing of explosive ordnance
EOD officers are assigned to EOD companies to lead soldiers and conduct disposal and render safe operations. They may also serve in progressive positions to develop their leadership and technical skills.
The United States Military EOD School is one of the most challenging and stressful schools in the military. The fail rate is one of the highest of any academic institution in any branch.
