0400 Logistics

Logistics Marines at the foundational level receive training to perform a wide array of tasks essential for establishing, maintaining, and overseeing transportation systems in critical areas such as beaches, landing zones, ports (both air and sea), and various terminals (rail, truck, and container) that are integral to supporting MAGTF operations and deployments.

These Marines are equipped with expertise in the fundamental principles of landing support and the procedures of the landing force support party. They are adept at executing operations at ports, arrival/departure airfields, helicopter landing zones, and railheads. In addition, the landing support specialists are well-versed in the utilization of Automated Information Systems (AIS) essential to the Defense Transportation System (DTS). These AIS systems are vital for monitoring and interfacing movement data with load planning software and joint AIS platforms, facilitating the Force Deployment Planning and Execution (FDP&E) process as well as enhancing In Transit Visibility (ITV) capabilities.
