6153 helicopter airframe mechanic

The Marine Corps MOS 6153 is for helicopter airframe mechanics who work on the CH-53 rotorcraft. Their primary objective is to inspect, maintain, and repair helicopter airframe systems.

To qualify for MOS 6153, you must be a corporal or staff sergeant, and have qualified for and obligated 48 months of service. You must also have completed the Independent Duty Prescreening Checklist.

The CH-53 is a heavy lift military transport helicopter. It carries a crew of four: a pilot, copilot, crew chief, and an aerial observer.
