2A5X3 is a career field for Mobility Air Forces Electronic Warfare Systems. The duties of a 2A5X3 include: Analyzing malfunctions Inspecting, removing, maintaining, and installing integrated avionics systems Ensuring that aircraft are operationally ready by performing scheduled inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance before and after flights Ensuring that the aircraft has been properly serviced with fuel, hydraulic fluid, and liquid oxygen Electronic warfare (EW) enables Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO). JEMSO provides the armed forces with the ability to: Exploit, attack, and protect the EM operation environment Intercept, identify, and decode the data of adversaries Project directed energy to disrupt enemy operations Electronic attack can be used to: Deny an adversary’s ability to communicate, navigate, gather intelligence, or locate targets on the battlefield Enable and empower land, sea, and air forces to achieve their missions
