AWS Naval Aircrewman Helicopter
The Navy MOS AWS is a Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter). They are members of multi-mission helicopter and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) crews.
Their duties include: Performing aircrew operations administration Flight and ground training Moving internal and external cargo Search and Rescue (SAR) operations Airborne Mine Countermeasure (AMCM) operations Tactical Evacuations (TACEVAC) Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR)
To become a Naval Aircrewman, you must: Have no speech impediments and be able to speak and understand English fluently Have a high school education or equivalent Complete 8 weeks of basic training Complete 38-54 weeks of technical training Pass the PRT with a “good-medium” for their sex and age in all categories Swim one mile in flight suit in 80 minutes or less Swim 75 yards in full flight gear
The minimum ASVAB subtest scores for the Navy Rating Title Aircrewman are VE+AR+MK+MC=210 or VE+AR+MK+AS=210.
