The Airborne Cryptologic Language Analyst (1A8X1) operates and manages airborne signals intelligence systems, focusing on the identification, acquisition, recording, translating, analyzing, and reporting of voice communications. This role is essential in providing signals intelligence and threat warning support, as well as interfacing with various units for mission planning and execution.

Technical Training Details:

  • Duration: Ranges from 224 to 459 days, depending on language proficiency and specific training requirements.
  • Locations: Initial training at Lackland AFB, language training at Monterey, CA, and additional training at Goodfellow AFB.
  • Degree Program: Intelligence Studies and Technology through the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF).
