8D000 Strategic Debriefer

8D000 is a military occupation code (MOC) for a linguist debriefer in the United States Air Force (USAF). 8D000 is a special duty identifier. 8D000s complete the Defense Strategic Debriefing Course (DSDC). They conduct strategic debriefings and interrogations of civilian defectors and refugees. They also: Screen documents and other materials to identify potential source leads Conduct and oversee interviews, screenings, and debriefings in English Work with translators when necessary Exploit information found in a variety of media The Air Force looks for airmen with special duty as 8D000s for initial assignments in the 1N7X1 AFSC.
