15W RQ-7 Operator
The 15W MOS is for soldiers who operate and remotely pilot unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). These UASs are also known as drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The 15W MOS includes operating the RQ-7 Shadow and MQ-1C Gray Eagle.
The training for a 15W MOS includes: 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training 15 weeks and two days of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Huachuca, AZ On-the-job instruction Part of the training is spent in the classroom and part in the field To become a 15W MOS, you need: A 102 ASVAB score in Surveillance and Communications
Skills such as: Interest in remote control vehicles Organizing information and studying its meaning Thinking clearly High attention to detail
The Army and Air Force both fly remotely piloted aircraft, but Army drone pilots are enlisted and Air Force drone pilots are officers.
